Sweet Scents, Two Moods

I have been gravitating towards sweeter perfumes lately, especially ones that feel cosy without becoming too sugary. What interests me most is how two fragrances can sit in the same general family and still create completely different moods on the skin.
These two immediately felt like that kind of comparison. One came across as softer and more dessert-like, while the other felt brighter and more playful.

1. Crème Of Clouds

Crème of Clouds was the one I expected to enjoy, and it ended up getting a 9/10 from me. From the first few wears, it felt smooth, creamy and very easy to settle into. I tend to reach for fragrances like this when I want something comforting rather than dramatic, and this one fits that mood beautifully. There is a soft gourmand quality that makes me think of something sweet and milky, but it does not feel overly loud on me. I especially like wearing it in the evening or on colder days, when I want my perfume to feel almost like part of my clothes. What surprised me was how polished it felt despite the playful sweetness. I expected something much heavier, but on my skin it stayed softer and more rounded. The 9/10 rating comes from how naturally it fits into my routine — it is distinctive enough to feel special, but still easy to wear.

2. Lattafa Yara

Lattafa Yara gave me a different impression, which is why I rated it 7/10. It feels brighter and more noticeable from the beginning, with a sweeter character that I personally find more playful than cosy. I can imagine reaching for it when I want something more obvious and cheerful, especially during the day. I do enjoy the sweetness, but for me it can feel a little more present than I want if I apply too much. That is probably the main reason it sits at 7/10 rather than higher. I found that I liked it most when I kept the application light and let it settle naturally. Compared with Crème of Clouds, Yara feels less soft and creamy to me and more energetic, which makes the two surprisingly different despite looking like they belong in the same fragrance mood.
After wearing both, I realised that I naturally prefer sweetness when it feels smooth rather than very noticeable. Crème of Clouds suits my quieter fragrance days, while Yara is the one I would choose when I want something brighter and more playful.
